5 tips to ace your next interview

Updated: Feb 28, 2022

With these 5 quick tips, you'll be sure to ace your next interview! Just remember, "The meeting of preparation with opportunity generates the offspring we call luck."

- Tony Robbins.

  1. DO YOUR RESEARCH!

  2. You'd be surprised how many times candidates fumble this very easy question! Find out a few key highlights from the year or what separates this company from the rest! Knowing the business inside and out is a sure way to solidify yourself as the expert!

  3. A firm handshake and a big smile go a long way!

  4. At the end of the day, recruiters hire people that are likable. In a lot of instances, you can teach candidates the skills the need to be successful. One thing you can't teach is a warm personality, a firm handshake and a constant smile!

  5. Give specific examples!

  6. The more concrete examples you can give, the more likely you are to make it to the next round! Bonus points if you can include numbers/data surrounding these examples!

  7. Ask a lot of questions!

  8. Recruiters want candidates to be inquisitive and eager to learn more! The more questions you ask at the end, the more engaged you are throughout the process.

  9. What do you expect me to accomplish in the first 90 days

  10. What common characteristics do you top performers have? - Follow up with how you also mastered these skills!

  11. What is a typical day like in this role? - Confirm with concrete examples of how this would be right in line with your previous experience or your previous role would make for a smooth transition.

  12. End with next steps + feedback!

  13. No interview is complete without knowing the next steps OR any area that you may have fell short on. Use the feedback question to eliminate any doubt this recruiter may have!
